Your browser does not have an on-device speech model installed for English yet, so Chrome will route your microphone audio to Google's speech recognition servers for transcription while voice mode is on.
Audio is sent continuously while enabled — including ambient sound and other speech in the room.
Google's handling of that audio is governed by Chrome's privacy policy, not by Chameleon.
Chameleon itself does not record, store, or transmit your audio anywhere.
Once Chrome's on-device speech model is downloaded (often automatically), this transfer stops and audio stays local.
